GREENINFO NETWORK: ParkInfo.org Web Site

ParkInfo.org is a one stop portal to all parklands and open spaces in California - it's also an online mapping technology that is easily adapted for many other purposes and groups.

GreenInfo Network has developed ParkInfo.org to support the use of GIS data on protected park and open space in California, allowing anyone anywhere to find parks and other recreational opportunities that are of interest. Users can find locations near their homes, in cities or zip codes, or by zooming in on the map. Links to the agencies that operate the parks allow use of ParkInfo as a starting portal - and include automatic travel instructions. Printouts of maps and selected park lists (examples at right) are also available.

ParkInfo has been supported by many organizations include the Bay Area Open Space Council, the California Council of Land Trusts, the California Coastal Conservancy and others.

In addition to enabling a one stop parks portal, the mapping technology and data sets behind ParkInfo can be easily adpated to a wide range of other users - Learn more about how GreenInfo uses such interactive mapping.
