CALSTART, a statewide nonprofit that helps commercial and public vehicle fleets convert to cleaner fuels, wanted to help fleet managers locate funding that offset the purchase or installation of alternative fuel vehicles and infrastructure. CALSTART staff had developed a long list of available funding programs across the state and wanted a web-based search tool to help folks search for them.
This project involved a Wordpress-based data input system leveraging Advanced Custom Fields and Custom Post Types to create a standard “Rebate” API that can be referenced from the front-end. The result was a rapid and flexible development process that allowed for multiple iterations as the project progressed.
The calculator tool is part of the CaliforniaHVIP.org website, for which we also built an interactive map to show where vehicle purchase vouchers are being used across the state.
