Client:   Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies

The Disaster Relief & Recovery Domain of Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies (MACP) supports work in disaster preparedness, relief, and recovery with emphasis on communities prone to low-attention natural disasters. To measure their impact, they collect data tied to grantee activities. After developing reporting metrics over several years with their grantee partners, MACP decided to take their data collection online.

GreenInfo was tasked with developing an online data collection system that allowed grantees to consistently submit relevant data along with detailed geographic information.

We started with a robust user research process, beginning with deeply understanding MACP’s current processes and future goals. From there, we interviewed grantees to get a better understanding of their current systems and needs.

Results: Through a long collaborative process, we developed a robust, easy-to-use online tool that makes it easy for MACP’s grantee partners to report on the impact of their work in responding to disasters.
